Darlington’s comedy scene is about to get a whole lot funnier with the launch of Jesticles Sunday Afternoon Comedy Club.
If you’ve been wandering the streets of Darlington on a Sunday Afternoon or thinking “Where is all the laughter hiding?”, wonder no more! Jesticles Sunday Afternoon Comedy Club start October 2025, bringing some of the newest up and coming stand-up talent to the historic Majestic Theatre.
Why “Jesticles,” you ask? Well, we wanted a name that would make you chuckle before you even walked through the door. Mission accomplished, we’d say! Plus, it’s scientifically proven* that places with funny names serve funnier comedy.
*Not actually scientifically proven, but it feels right, doesn’t it?
In partnership with the Majestic Theatre feels like a match made in comedy heaven. This architectural gem has been entertaining residents since 1932, originally opening as a cinema during the golden age of Hollywood. Its art deco interior, complete with original features and that unmistakable vintage charm, creates the perfect atmosphere for comedy.
